name is Syed Abubaker Maliki. I am from a small town of Karnataka called Bhatkal. I
have been interested in Urdu Poetry since my childhood. I've been writing since I was in
High School. I take part in poetic symposiums [Mushairas] all over. I have published
my collection of Poems " Ehsaas" in the year 1994. My Gazals and Nazams
are published in several magazines and papers in India and Pakistan. I
want to use the Internet as a means of publishing and bringing my poems, Bhatkal
News, History of Nawayat Community and Islamic Information to the public. In a
few months, I will develop my Site to the fullest extent possible as time permits.

Presently I live in Dubai and enjoy living here. We have a large population of Bhatkalis
in Dubai and have a Bhatkal Association since 1972. We get together frequently for
cultural activities and to preserve our Bhatkali "Tahzeeb" in our children.
